Well that’s good news - Search and Rescue Helicopter Service run by a private American Company!!!
When I break my leg on a mountain I can rest easy knowing that the private company running the service will put my rescue and safety above all profit motives!!
The Tory coalition have only one motive in pushing this forward
More opportunities for their business colleagues to make a fast buck!! which in turn will mean:
opportunity for employers to hire staff at lowest rate possible – after all there are a lot of people looking for work!!
1. standards and outcomes will suffer.
2. when company goes bust – who will pick up the tab.
3. company will want to make a profit so will cut corners -”Shall we look for the life-raft for another few hours or shall we call it a day???” after all no competition to worry about once contact has been accepted.
4. lost opportunity for MOD staff to get relevant training – lost expertise.
When will people open their eyes to what is going on – the Tory government isn't even being subtle – they intend to privatise all public services – schools, health, emergency services, care of young and elderly etc etc.
Yes Public services could be improved – better management would go a long way to ensure this – HOSPITAL, SCHOOLS, UNIVERSITIES, FIRE STATIONS, do not need to make money – or be run at a profit so someone who probably doesn't even pay UK taxes can get fatter while sunbathing on some fantasy island.
